January Favourites

I am so so excited to be doing my first favourites post. It’s something I knew I wanted to do on my blog from the beginning. Here’s what I have been loving this month.

Fortune Favour’s The Brave Eyeshadow Palette

I wrote about this in my Makeup Revolution Review 2 – Palettes and I have honestly loved it since. It’s what I have been reaching for pretty much every time it has such a good mix of colours the possibilities are actually endless! I feel as if I could use it everyday for months and still be doing a new look every day. I love the presentation of the palette and the pigment for most of them is to die for. There is such a good variation of colours but still a scheme to it which I think is amazing. 30 colours for £9.99 is just a steal!

Tony + Guy Texture Detox Shampoo

I received this in a set for Christmas. The other product I didn’t really like which I will be including in a post soon. This shampoo left my hair feeling brilliantly soft but also so easy to style which isn’t a combination you can always get with freshly washed hair. I usually pair it with a Dove or Herbal Essences conditioner and I’ve found it doesn’t make much difference which one. I will definitely be repurchasing this when it runs out (I’m currently hiding it from my mom and sister because I don’t want it to!).

Soap + Glory Sunkissed Tint Moisturiser

Now I really love to be tanned but I think fake tanning is such a pain in the arse, to be honest. I hate when it goes streaky and horrible it looks when it’s coming off. So I’d got this for Christmas and I thought it would look just like a moisturiser so I crapped myself when it came out brown! I applied it and was so happy with the result! It’s perfect if you have your shoulders or arms out and want a healthy glow. It washes right off but doesn’t go patchy if it rains or heaven forbid get a bloody drink spilt on you on a night out! It’s such a big bottle as well I can already tell it’s going to last such a long time.

NYX Liquid Suede – Sandstorm

I spoke about how badly I wanted this in my Boots Haul and it has not disappointed me! I’ve reached for it all month and I am just loving the consistency of it and the colour is lush. I fully recommend the NYX liquid suede’s to anyone and I feel bad for neglecting my others lately! They’re definitely one of my favourite lip products ever.

Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation

I picked this up earlier in the month because I really want to try more foundations, especially high-end if anyone has any recommendations! At first I wasn’t sure of the matte finish because it’s not as easy to blend concealer on top but I’ve found if I use a little bit more foundation than usual it’s easy. It’s also such a full coverage foundation that it completely covers some of my blemishes which is brilliant. I’ve been using this constantly now and I dread the day it runs out! It really does last a long time with or without a setting spray.

Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipstick – Chauffer

I think one of the main reasons I am loving this so much is the fact that it’s only £3! The packaging and the colour is to die for. It last’s so long and it’s the perfect nude. It’s described as buildable colour which it really is. You can have it quite sheer or a full coverage and it doesn’t affect the feel on the lips which I think is just so clever.

L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Purity Mask

I really wanted to try and use masks more regularly, one of my new years resolutions was to take better care of my skin. I ordered this along with some others and I am obsessed with it. It really clears all the crap from your skin and leaves you feeling so clean and fresh. I love to use it on a night because you don’t want to put anything else on to tarnish your skin afterwards because it feels so clear! This has become a firm favourite in my skin care routine.

Boots Sponge Applicator Wand

I was so excited when I seen this and for some reason I forgot to include it in my boots haul. I think it’s because it very quickly became a staple product of mine. I don’t like the small beauty blenders/sponges because I don’t like the lack of grip you have. This is just like a small bb/sponge but on a wand meaning you have complete control and it works so well in the contours of the face. It’s only £4.50 and such a good tool to have! It’s a little hard to wash as it feels as if you squeeze or pull too hard it might come out but I haven’t had too much trouble with it yet.

Makeup Revolution Blush Palette – Golden Sugar

I’m going to keep this short because I did already review this palette but I have been reaching for it constantly for blush and highlight and I am just living for the glow! It does such a brilliant job at brightening the face and I can’t get enough of it.

That’s what I have been loving this month! Let me know if you have been loving any of these products or one of your favourites this month that you think I would like to try!

13 Personal Questions Tag

I thought I would try this tag just because it seemed a nice way for you guys to get to know me a bit more. They’re a bit random so I thought it was more fun than a basic about me post. I’d love to start doing some Q&A blog posts in the future so let me know if that’s something you’d like!
1. What do you order at Starbucks?

Always gotta be a latte!

2. What’s one thing in your wardrobe that you cannot live without?

Leggings. All day everyday it’s very rare I wear jeans!

3. What’s one thing most people do not know about you?

Most of my friends and family don’t know I blog, just because I haven’t got a lot of confidence with it yet.

4. What’s one thing you want to do before you die?

Honestly so many how do I pick one!??? Probably just to be happy and successful.

5. What’s one food you cannot live without?

A good old Chinese takeaway!!

6. What’s one quote you live your life by?

Old and cliche but “Everything happens for a reason” I do genuinely believe it. I do believe that everything has a worse situation, I don’t think this in a negative way at all just that something worse always could have happened so this could have saved us. If you know what I mean? Ah stop I’m rambling

7. What do you like/dislike about the youtube/blogging community?

Nothing! I love it the support everyone gives eachother and the creativity of it all. I only hate that I work full time and can’t focus on it more!

8. What’s the number one song on your Ipod or Itunes?

I listen to music on YouTube so I don’t have one, but I have been obsessed with Ed Sheeran – Shape of you

9. What kind of style would you describe yourself as having?

Hm this one stumped me, I don’t think I have a specific style I sort of wear what I want. I don’t necessarily shun the latest fashion trends but if I like it I’ll wear it if it’s in or out. My go to outfit is some shorts with tights and a baggy top if that’s a style ha!

10. Favourite number?

9 because the 9th is the date I got with my love, Q, so it’s my favesss because I’m a sap.

11. Two hobbies?

Blogging and makeup most definitely

12. Two pet peeves?

When people purposely upset anyone I can’t stand it it really gets me so angry!! People being late aswell or not keeping their word really gets me wound up.

13. Your guilty pleasure?

My man or make up. Both make me crazy happy.

Comment your links if you do this tag I would love to have a read!

Makeup Revolution Review 1 – Lips

If you follow me on Twitter you will have seen the huge order I placed with Makeup Revolution which was farrr too big to fit a review into just 1 blog post, so I’ve separated it into three. Here is everything I got that is lips! Links are in the titles if you want to check them out yourself. There is a good variation in the colours because I needed a break from my ridiculous amount of red lips so there’s something for everyone! Continue reading “Makeup Revolution Review 1 – Lips”

I’m assuming that most of you reading this will have read Part 1 and Part 2 of my MUR reviews which is Lips and Palettes. Now I have products that don’t fit into these categories. I honestly didn’t think I’d ordered that much and when it came I thought holy s**t how am I going to fit all of these into one post, evidently, I couldn’t. So here’s the last one, I hope you’ve enjoyed them!

Make-up Revolution Review 2 – Palettes

Ok now palettes are like my favourite thing and they was sooo cheap I couldn’t resist any of them. I originally had nine in my basket which I realised was far too ridiculous so I managed to get rid of three but I couldn’t get rid of any of these because I knew they’d be such good staples. Let me know which one is your favourite, I don’t think I can decide. Continue reading “Make-up Revolution Review 2 – Palettes”

Boots Haul!

Okay so, payday weekend for me means buying all the make-up I want to try out. So I went to Boots and also placed a massive order on Superdrug, but because 90% of
that was the Make Up Revolution range I am going to do a review on that later. I thought I would do a little haul for you, telling you what I brought, how much it
cost and what I think of it. Links to the product, if you want them, are the titles in bold so have a little peak yourself! Continue reading “Boots Haul!”

What 2016 taught me..

If you would have told me a year ago what my life would be like now I never would have believed you. Common thing to say but honestly, I wouldn’t have even imagined.  In January 2016 I was preparing to have the summer of my life working in Magaluf, I was leaving my job which I started at 16 and everyone I knew. I left in April and leaving my family and friends honestly was the one of the worst heartbreaks imaginable. I met some amazing people and hang on this is where it gets mushy, I fell in love. Yep in Magaluf of all places. Two months later he left and I did the same 5 days later. I knew it was time for me. My workplace asked me back in a different position and there I was. Not long after he moved to be with me. I spent the rest of 2016 happier than I’ve ever been. I drifted from some friends in this process, purely because our lives had changed and our circles have too.  Continue reading “What 2016 taught me..”

Beauty Hacks!

We’ve all been in a situation where we are a bit stuck for money, and the most common time for it is January. While we might have wonderful new palettes and lipsticks that we have been kindly gifted at Christmas, beauty and make-up essentials are running low and payday feels like foreverrrrr away! So here are my little hacks for when I’m in a pinch.

Setting Spray

Now, setting spray’s can be quite expensive. I wanted to try it but was sceptical, so I had a look online to see if there was a way to make your own and……. there is! And it works just the same. Have a look at the video here… it is so easy. Basically just a bottle of water and some Glycerine in a spray bottle. As you can see from the photo, I made mine a little prettier with a sticky backed sheet of patterned paper. I kee Continue reading “Beauty Hacks!”

5 Favourite Eyeshadow Palettes!

If you’re anything like me and have a slightly worrying obsession with eyeshadows then get yourself a nice hot drink, get comfy and have a read of this!

Eyeshadow is my ultimate favourite part of makeup. Sometimes I wish I could take it off and do it again because I enjoy it so much (I’m aware how sad that sounds).
I have so many eyeshadows and palettes to the point I wonder if I’ll ever use all the colours, but it doesn’t stop me getting more.. woops.
I thought I’d share my top 5 favourites, from high end to cheap af ones.

1. Anastasia Beverley Hills – Modern Renaissance.abh-pic
I am obsesssssed with this palette. The colours are so so so beautiful and the mirror on it is a brilliant size.
I love the orange and red tones and it has a couple of pinky colours aswell. The brush isn’t as soft as I would expect for the price but it does blend the colours
really well.

2. Mac – 9 Colour Burgundy Palettemac-pic
The. Shimmer. Shades. Oh. My. God. I looove MAC’s sparkly eyeshadows and Day Gleam was my favourite until I found Star Violet and Honey Lust in this palette.
The matte shadows compliment them so well and I couldn’t imagine a better mix of colours for this palette.

3. Urban Decay – Naked 1nkd pic.jpg

This was the first high-end palette I ever brought. The first time I let that amount of money leave my pocket for makeup and I remember the pain.
Until I used it. I’ve had this palette for a year now and I’m still so in love with it. If you haven’t got a naked palette, my gosh, you need one!

4. Morphe 35T

I’d seen this palette online a few times and couldn’t wait to get it. Can you imagine my pure HEARTBREAK. When it came and about 6 of the colours was smashed.
Honestly. Ouch. I had a mare with trying to send it back and in the end I decided the sacrifice the colours I had lost, cleaned it up and used it.
So there are colours in this palette that unfortunately I haven’t used, however, the ones I have got are absolutely beautifulll. Such lovely, pigmented shades. There are so many options to match with this many colours and I have done some lovely looks with this through the Autumn/Christmas period.

Everyday Make-Up

So, I thought my first blog post should be something that included my make-up basics as I will probably mention them alot! This is the make-up I wear everyday to work.

I start off with the Primed & Ready gel primer from Collection. I like this primer as it gives a matte effect and helps control blemishes.

I would normally swear by the Wake Me Up foundation by Rimmel in the shade Ivory, but when I last went to pick my foundation up it was out of stock, lately I have been using the Match Perfection foundation. The Rimmel foundations are my absolute favourite and I think they have one to suit anyone.

For my eyebrows lately I have been using the Collection Eyebrow Kit in the shade blonde, even though I have dark hair, the colours are really dark! I apply the powder with my Spectrum A17 angled brush.

I use the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in shade 1 or for lighter coverage the Wake-Me-Up Concealer in Ivory.

I finish my base with a translucent power, usually Rimmel Stay-Matte.

To contour and highlight, I use the Anastasia Beverley Hills palette in light-medium. I apply this with my Sigma Large Angled Contour F40 Brush and a basic fan brush for highlight.

I use the Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara from Rimmel, although I do try a new mascara often!

To finish off, lipstick! Dependent on the look I’m going for my every day staples are either my Collection Velvet Kiss lip cream in Caramel 2 or my MAC Russian Red lipstick.

I hope you enjoyed this post the links to supplier’s are as follows..
